Family photos are essential to your heritage!
“Having family photos is an essential part of your heritage. Leaving a legacy through photography provides the proper sense of belonging for generations to come.”
When my mother passed away suddenly from cancer in the year of 2000. The first action my family took was finding photographs of my mother to create the funeral program. We realized immediately that we lacked in the area having a variety of photos of her. We solicited from family members, however in this areas felt we didn't have enough. We missed her dearly and just wanted to see her face while looking into her eyes for comfort. To date whenever someone sends a photograph of my mother, its like receiving gold! We grew to cherish the memory of my mother through photos. Our only regret was lack of awareness of the need to take more.
What did my family do about it?
Fast forward life to 2015 when I lost my dad, the only remaining parent we had left on this earth. My family did their work of correcting the documentation problem we had with my mom by taking plenty of photos of my dad while he lived. We had three generation photos of Earl J. Wright Sr, Earl J. Wright Jr. and Earl J. Wright III. We took photos of him in action with his ministry both locally and nationally. You name it, we got it on camera. We made up for what we lacked with my mom by creating tons of special memories through photos. We even had a photographer at the funeral to document his last life celebration through an incredible photo book. The week my dad passed away, I was able to send out a photo a day on Facebook to all that loved him until the day of the funeral. People were so grateful to get a piece of him to save, cherish, and never forget his contribution to their lives.
